Director of Aviation

About the role

The Director of Aviation will shape loveholidays' aviation offering, overseeing a portfolio worth over £3 billion and managing relationships with more than 120 airlines. Reporting to the VP Commercial, this senior role blends commercial strategy, product development and technology integration to ensure the most competitive flight selection for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Full strategic ownership of the Aviation product and roadmap.
• Lead the commercial Aviation team to maximise revenue across a portfolio of over 120 airline partners.
• Manage airline relationships, including low‑cost carriers, scheduled and charter airlines.
• Collaborate with product owners and technical leads to integrate Aviation into the broader product suite.
• Own technology and data partnerships with GDS operators and booking platforms.
• Drive cross‑functional Aviation team (engineers, analysts, data scientists) to deliver objectives.
• Balance revenue maximisation with risk mitigation in the UK airline market.
• Control budgeting, forecasting and cost management for the Aviation function.

Required profile

• Extensive aviation industry experience across low‑cost, scheduled carriers and GDS.
• Proven ability to build and influence relationships up to C‑suite level.
• Strong commercial acumen and negotiation expertise.
• Strategic mindset with data‑driven decision‑making.
• Experience leading cross‑functional teams, working closely with product and technology groups.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
