Director of Finance & IT

About the role

St Giles Hospice is seeking a senior leader to head both finance and information technology. Reporting to the Chief Executive and working closely with the Board, you will shape the charity’s financial sustainability and digital future as it implements its 2026‑2030 strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership for a £15 m turnover charity, ensuring robust governance, control and reporting.
• Lead the combined Finance and IT function, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and digital systems that support clinical care and income generation.
• Drive digital transformation initiatives, selecting and implementing technology solutions that improve efficiency and service quality.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders, trustees and external partners to align financial and IT strategies with organisational goals.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and charitable accounting standards.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with extensive senior financial leadership experience.
• Proven track record of leading transformational change, preferably in a regulated or complex environment.
• Strong credibility with senior stakeholders and ability to influence at board level.
• High emotional intelligence, collaborative mindset and alignment with hospice values.
