Director of Solutions Engineering – EMEA Strategy

About the role

Decagon is looking for a Director of Solutions Engineering to build and lead its pre‑sales solutions engineering function across EMEA. The role combines deep technical expertise, enterprise consultative engagement, and team leadership to drive adoption of Decagon’s AI‑native platform in complex enterprises.

Key responsibilities

• Hire, mentor, and manage a high‑performing team of Solutions Engineers, establishing scalable processes for pre‑sales engagements.
• Partner with Sales, Product, and Engineering to co‑develop go‑to‑market strategies and align technical execution with business goals.
• Engage directly with strategic enterprise prospects, guiding discovery, solution design, ROI validation, and delivering demos, prototypes, and solution architectures.
• Represent Decagon as an executive‑level technical leader in customer meetings, workshops, and industry events.

Required profile

• 7+ years in pre‑sales technical roles such as Solutions Architect or Sales Engineer.
• 3+ years leading or managing solutions engineering or pre‑sales teams.
• Proven success working with large enterprise customers and navigating complex buying cycles.
• Strong executive presence and consultative communication skills with senior stakeholders.

Required skills

• Enterprise AI deployments and API integrations.
• Production system architecture and enterprise architecture design.
• Developer tooling, SDKs, and integration patterns.
• Generative AI, LLM architecture, prompt engineering, and AI‑powered solution design.
• Software engineering or systems engineering background, including telephony infrastructure integration.
