Director, Strategy & Operations - CEO Office

About the role

Airwallex, the AI-native financial operating system used by more than 675,000 businesses, is hiring a Director, Strategy & Operations for its CEO Office in London. The CEO Office works directly with executive leadership on strategic, operational and organisational priorities, and is a small, high-trust team focused on global expansion, product strategy, financial infrastructure, organisational scaling and AI transformation. The role offers close exposure to senior leadership and direct involvement in high-stakes decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with the leadership team on high-priority initiatives that shape the company's global direction
• Help frame problems, drive alignment and move complex initiatives from idea to outcome
• Projects may include scaling new products and business lines globally, international expansion and market-entry strategy, regulatory and banking infrastructure, organisational effectiveness and operating model design, commercial acceleration and go-to-market execution, M&A evaluation and post-merger integration, AI-enabled operational transformation, and cross-functional strategic initiatives
• Regularly work with senior leaders across product, engineering, finance, commercial, legal, operations and regional teams

Required profile

• Proven experience in top-tier consulting, high-growth technology companies, investing, strategic finance or similar high-performance environments
• Track record of leading complex cross-functional initiatives and driving measurable outcomes
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
• Preferred: fintech or regulated industry experience, direct work with senior executives or founders, and experience scaling products, markets or functions internationally
