Dispensing Lead

About the role

We are a fast‑growing distance‑selling pharmacy seeking a motivated Lead Dispenser to oversee our dispensing operations. You will ensure safe, accurate, and timely prescription processing while supporting a high‑performing pharmacy team.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately dispense prescriptions in line with legal and clinical requirements.
• Oversee dispensary workflow to maintain efficiency and meet processing targets.
• Support digital dispensing systems and distance‑selling processes.
• Supervise, train and manage dispensary staff, handling performance and rota planning.
• Act as escalation point for dispensing queries and operational issues.
• Ensure compliance with GPhC standards, SOPs and NHS contractual requirements.
• Maintain audit trails, lead error reporting and drive continuous improvement.
• Promote a culture of patient safety and high‑quality care, handling remote patient queries as needed.

Required profile

• Experienced pharmacy professional with a proven track record in dispensing leadership.
• Strong knowledge of GPhC regulations and NHS dispensing contracts.
• Ability to manage a team, plan rotas and allocate workload effectively.
• Commitment to patient safety, quality improvement and operational excellence.
