Dispensing Lead

About the role

We are a fast‑growing distance‑selling pharmacy seeking an experienced Lead Dispenser to oversee safe, accurate and efficient dispensing operations. You will lead a high‑performing team, ensure compliance with regulatory standards and drive continuous improvement across our digital workflow.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately dispense prescriptions in line with legal and clinical requirements.
• Oversee dispensary workflow, ensuring efficiency and timely processing.
• Support and optimise digital dispensing systems and distance‑selling processes.
• Supervise, train and manage dispensary staff, handling performance and rota planning.
• Act as escalation point for dispensing queries and operational issues.
• Maintain compliance with GPhC standards, SOPs and NHS contractual requirements.
• Lead audit trails, internal/external inspections and incident reporting.
• Promote a culture of patient safety and high‑quality care, including remote patient query handling.

Required profile

• Proven experience in pharmacy dispensing within a distance‑selling or online environment.
• Strong knowledge of GPhC standards and NHS regulations.
• Demonstrated leadership and team‑management abilities.
• Commitment to patient safety, quality improvement and regulatory compliance.
