Doctor Functional Assessor – Flexible Hours

About the role

Join Maximus as a Doctor Functional Assessor and use your clinical expertise to evaluate how disabilities or health conditions affect daily living. You will work with complex cases, including veterans, neurological conditions, industrial injuries and respiratory diseases, while receiving tailored training and ongoing mentorship.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct telephone, video or face‑to‑face assessments to determine how a disability or health condition impacts daily life.
• Produce Work Capability Assessment (WCA) reports for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to support benefit eligibility decisions.
• Apply clinical knowledge to cases involving veterans, neurological conditions, industrial injuries and respiratory diseases.
• Participate in a tailored training programme and receive ongoing mentorship and supervision.

Required profile

• Valid GMC registration number.
• At least one year of post‑registration experience, within or outside the NHS.
• Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available).
• Strong oral and written communication abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with standard computer software for report writing.
