Duty Manager – Luxury Resort

About the role

The Duty Manager is responsible for executing the day‑to‑day operational strategy at Cameron House, a 5‑star resort on Loch Lomond. This role ensures uncompromising service standards and a visible management presence throughout the property.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee arrivals, departures, conferences, events and VIP requirements, communicating details during operational briefs.
• Attend departmental shift briefs on a rotational basis and monitor allocations and special requests.
• Maintain daily liaison with managers and supervisors to ensure all departments are properly resourced.
• Provide a visible presence in the lobby and throughout peak service periods, greeting guests and interacting with the team.
• Monitor standards and service levels, taking corrective action to meet 5‑star quality.
• Offer hands‑on support to operational teams when staffing gaps arise.
• Authorize discounts, allowances and complimentary items, and oversee cellar requirements.
• Conduct regular health, safety and security walks, reporting hazards and taking remedial action.
• Communicate resort‑wide information through daily reports and support IT/AV needs in the absence of the IT Manager.

Required profile

• Proven experience in hotel or resort operations with a strong leadership mindset.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact confidently with guests and senior management.
• Ability to work under pressure during peak periods and make swift, decisive decisions.
• Attention to detail with a focus on maintaining 5‑star service standards.
