E-commerce IT Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced E‑commerce IT Manager to own and enhance the IT infrastructure of a fast‑growing online business in Birmingham. The role combines hands‑on technical work with leadership of a junior systems administrator, ensuring secure, reliable and scalable services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day performance, security and availability of servers, networks and end‑user environments.
• Lead, mentor and develop a 1st/2nd Line Systems Administrator.
• Oversee Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune and Windows desktop management.
• Maintain office infrastructure including Wi‑Fi, networking equipment and VoIP systems.
• Ensure backups, disaster‑recovery and business‑continuity plans are up to date.
• Coordinate hardware procurement, device deployment and secure onboarding/off‑boarding.
• Deliver infrastructure upgrades, technology projects and continuous improvements.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing IT infrastructure in a fast‑paced e‑commerce environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and coach junior technical staff.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with a proactive, hands‑on attitude.
• Experience with networking, cyber security, backup and disaster‑recovery solutions.

What we offer

• Salary up to £60,000 plus bonus
• Full‑time permanent role (37.5 hours per week)
