Early Years Teaching Assistant – Reception (Lambeth)

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a friendly, inclusive primary school in Lambeth. The role starts in September 2026 and supports children during their first year of school within a vibrant Reception classroom.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Reception teacher in delivering the EYFS curriculum.
• Lead small‑group activities focused on phonics, early literacy and numeracy.
• Prepare and maintain stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environments.
• Observe and record children’s progress, contributing to ongoing assessment.
• Promote communication, independence and positive social development.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents and the wider Early Years team.

Required profile

• Level 3 Early Years or Teaching Assistant qualification (essential).
• Experience working in an EYFS setting.
• Good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
• Enthusiastic, patient and able to build strong relationships with young children.
• Commitment to creating a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
