Early Years Teaching Assistant – Reception (Lambeth)

About the role
We are looking for a qualified Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a friendly, inclusive primary school in Lambeth. The role starts in September 2026 and supports children during their first year of school within a vibrant Reception classroom.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Reception teacher in delivering the EYFS curriculum.
- Lead small‑group activities focused on phonics, early literacy and numeracy.
- Prepare and maintain stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environments.
- Observe and record children’s progress, contributing to ongoing assessment.
- Promote communication, independence and positive social development.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents and the wider Early Years team.
Required profile
- Level 3 Early Years or Teaching Assistant qualification (essential).
- Experience working in an EYFS setting.
- Good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
- Enthusiastic, patient and able to build strong relationships with young children.
- Commitment to creating a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
