About the role
Join Binnies UK as an Electrical Design Engineer and lead the creation of innovative electrical and control solutions for water and wastewater projects. You will work across a range of schemes, from concept through to detailed design, ensuring safety, reliability and sustainability.
Key responsibilities
- Develop EICA design solutions from concept to detailed design.
- Produce engineering deliverables such as single‑line diagrams, cable block diagrams, control system architecture, MCC datasheets, load schedules and control philosophies.
- Act as the technical authority on electrical aspects, providing specialist insight across multidisciplinary teams.
- Coordinate design interfaces, work closely with project managers, JV partners and clients.
- Lead bid reviews, assess subcontractor designs and support on‑site technical activities.
- Mentor junior engineers and support their professional development.
- Manage budgets, schedules, risks and quality standards.
Required profile
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience in the water, wastewater or related sectors.
- Strong understanding of electrical power systems and water‑treatment control systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively and lead technical discussions.
