Electrical Design Engineer

About the role

Join Binnies UK as an Electrical Design Engineer and lead the creation of innovative electrical and control solutions for water and wastewater projects. You will work across a range of schemes, from concept through to detailed design, ensuring safety, reliability and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop EICA design solutions from concept to detailed design.
• Produce engineering deliverables such as single‑line diagrams, cable block diagrams, control system architecture, MCC datasheets, load schedules and control philosophies.
• Act as the technical authority on electrical aspects, providing specialist insight across multidisciplinary teams.
• Coordinate design interfaces, work closely with project managers, JV partners and clients.
• Lead bid reviews, assess subcontractor designs and support on‑site technical activities.
• Mentor junior engineers and support their professional development.
• Manage budgets, schedules, risks and quality standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in the water, wastewater or related sectors.
• Strong understanding of electrical power systems and water‑treatment control systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively and lead technical discussions.
