Electrical Design Engineer

About the role

Join Armstrong Fluid Technology, a global leader in fluid‑flow innovation, as an Electrical Design Engineer based at the Droitwich site. You will design and deliver safe, compliant, and cost‑effective electrical systems for modular HVAC, packaged plant rooms and capital equipment solutions, working closely with mechanical, controls and manufacturing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop electrical designs in line with company SOPs, including load schedules, cable sizing, earthing and protective device coordination using Trimble Pro Design or equivalent.
• Produce detailed design deliverables such as Single Line Diagrams, block cable diagrams, switchboard layouts and earthing/bonding schematics.
• Ensure compliance with BS 7671, IEC 6024‑1, EN 60364‑1 and relevant EU/UK directives, and conduct peer reviews.
• Collaborate with mechanical, controls and manufacturing engineers to integrate designs and support procurement and production teams.
• Maintain design records, revision control and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent practical experience) with at least two years of electrical design experience in building services or industrial systems.
• Strong attention to technical accuracy, ability to interpret complex specifications and apply sound engineering judgement.
• Effective communication and documentation skills for multidisciplinary environments.

Required skills

• Trimble Pro Design (or equivalent electrical design/calculation software).
• Load calculations, cable sizing and protective device coordination.
• Creation of Single Line Diagrams, block cable diagrams and earthing/bonding schematics.
• Knowledge of BS 7671, IEC 6024‑1, EN 60364‑1 and related EU/UK directives.
