Electrical Engineer - Contract, Watford

About the role

Smart Managed Solutions is recruiting an Electrical Engineer for a contract in Watford. The role covers PPM, reactive and breakdown work on all electrical systems on site, and involves a split-shift Monday to Friday pattern (06:00-15:00 and 09:00-18:00) plus a weekend rota of 1 day in 6.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out PPM, reactive and breakdown work on all electrical systems on site, fault-finding using graphical information and alarm data
• Ensure routine PPM is completed on all electrical plant in line with site schedules and asset lists
• Complete reactive tasks across the building, including concessionary stores and fabric items, and highlight areas for improvement
• Remedy plant faults and defects promptly to maintain serviceability
• Keep the Computer-Based Maintenance System (e.g. Concept, Smart Hub) updated and close out PPM and reactive tickets accurately
• Complete paperwork for reactive and breakdown works and pass it to the contract administrator without delay
• Prepare and use Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks
• Keep all Smart-managed plant rooms locked, clean and tidy

Required profile

• Formal training in City and Guilds Electrical Installations or the equivalent NVQ and Building Services maintenance
• 18th Edition BS7671 City and Guilds
• Experience in a similar role

Required skills

• Knowledge of air conditioning, UPS, generators and LV systems
• Ability to fault-find using graphical information and alarm data
