Graduate/Placement Fire Safety Engineer

About the role

Hollis, an independent real estate consultancy, is recruiting ambitious Fire Safety Engineers to join its growing team and help clients navigate fire safety challenges in the built environment. The role can be based in Glasgow, London or Manchester. It suits recent graduates or students, offering early responsibility on live client work, support towards professional qualification and chartership, and collaboration with experienced engineers and technical experts.

Key responsibilities

• Support fire safety projects across the property lifecycle, including fire safety strategies, specialist fire risk assessments and fire safety inspections
• Contribute to projects from inception to completion, across different stages of project delivery
• Assist with proposals, technical reports and client deliverables
• Collaborate across disciplines to deliver integrated solutions and support client relationships
• Develop commercial awareness and stay up to date with fire safety legislation, regulation and industry developments
• Take ownership of your own continuous professional development

Required profile

• Degree in a relevant discipline such as Fire, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Aeronautical, Structural Engineering, Physics or Chemistry
• Strong written and verbal communication, research and analytical skills, attention to detail and good organisation
• Interest in the built environment and willingness to learn and seek feedback
• Full driving licence preferred but not essential

Required skills

• Confident use of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Team collaboration and time management
