Electrical Project Engineer - London

About the role

1st Step Solutions is supporting a leading M&E contractor on a new commercial project in London, looking for an experienced Electrical Project Engineer. This is a long-term contract position.

Key responsibilities

• Attend and host team meetings and lead and issue meeting notes for technical and progress workshops.
• Review tender information, including design drawings, specifications and equipment schedules.
• Produce design and working drawings, capturing additional costs and programme delays caused by external influences.
• Check technical submissions and working drawings against specifications and ER documents.
• Produce package scoping documents and manage procurement, value engineering and cost control.
• Program the works and sub-contract packages and report to the project manager.
• Manage installation and commissioning, including handover documentation such as record drawings and test and commission records.
• Advise the project manager and quantity surveyor on variation costs and liaise with the project surveyor on the monthly PFR report.
• Contribute to quality control, risk control (programme and commercial) and team work with internal and client teams.

Required profile

• HNC/HND in Building Services Engineering or similar.
• CSCS, IOSH or SMSTS.
• Experience as a Project Engineer on M&E commercial projects, ideally with full contract management responsibility.
• Able to take responsibility and meet project objectives on time.
• Good computer skills, especially Microsoft Office.
• Aware of health and safety requirements and risk control.
