Electrician – Food Manufacturing Plant

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Electrical specialist to join our food manufacturing plant in Kirkham. You will work closely with production and engineering teams to keep the plant running safely, efficiently and with minimal downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance in line with the CMMS schedule.
• Respond quickly to machinery breakdowns and restore equipment safely.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults on ovens, conveyors, mixers, weighers and packaging lines.
• Support line change‑overs and start‑ups to reduce downtime.
• Record all engineering activity in the CMMS and maintain 5S‑compliant work areas.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement projects and assist with equipment upgrades, installations and modifications.

Required profile

• Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
• Proven experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, preferably FMCG or food.
• Willingness to work a 4‑on/4‑off shift pattern and occasional overtime.

Required skills

• Electrical fault‑finding.
• Mechanical fault‑finding.
• PLC troubleshooting (programming not required).
• Use of CMMS for maintenance planning and recording.
