Electrician (Somerset Region)

About the role

Magna Housing is looking for an experienced, skilled and customer-focused electrician to join its Building Safety, Compliance & Home Services team. The role is field-based with regular travel across Somerset, 39 hours per week, and is permanent. Van, uniform and power tools are provided.

Key responsibilities

• Perform electrical work to a high standard, following Part P regulations, on first-fix and second-fix properties
• Carry out Electrical Installation Condition Reports in occupied properties, including remedial actions needed for compliance
• Complete and submit all paperwork and electronic forms within permitted timescales
• Carry out electrical repairs, fault-finding and installation works, and test and certify work after completion
• Be on call once every 10 weeks, with a standby allowance

Required profile

• Full qualification with an NVQ level 3, preferably 18th edition; City and Guilds 2391 or equivalent is desirable but not essential
• Full driving licence; the post is subject to a DBS check
• Legal right to work in the UK; no visa sponsorship is available
• Excellent problem-solving skills, basic IT literacy and a customer-focused approach
