Embedded Software Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join our client in Slough. The role involves developing and maintaining embedded software for cutting‑edge devices that are deployed worldwide. You will work in a collaborative engineering team, delivering new features and supporting the full product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design, write, test and maintain embedded software using C/C++.
• Collaborate with customers and internal engineering teams to translate requirements into robust code.
• Develop new functionality and enhance existing products.
• Debug, troubleshoot and resolve software issues.
• Work closely with hardware and firmware engineers throughout product development.
• Produce clean, well‑documented code and support testing, validation and release activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and tooling.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience developing embedded software.
• Permanent, unrestricted right to work in the UK.
• Ability to work on‑site three days a week (hybrid arrangement).

Required skills

• Proficiency in C and C++.
• Experience with ARM Cortex‑M, STM32, ESP32 or similar microcontrollers.
• Knowledge of RTOS and/or Linux environments.
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle and hardware‑software interfacing.
