Emergency Practitioner – Minor Injuries Unit

About the role
The Emergency Practitioner will manage a caseload of patients aged 16 and over presenting to the Minor Injuries Unit with acute minor injuries. Working collaboratively with patients and a multidisciplinary team, you will use evidence‑based practice and specialist clinical knowledge to deliver optimal care outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Assess and treat patients with minor injuries, ensuring safe and effective care.
- Motivate and support staff to maintain the highest standards of clinical practice.
- Provide specialist advice, education and training to Emergency Department staff, NHS Lothian services and other healthcare professionals.
- Develop and evaluate evidence‑based standards, guidelines and policies for the Minor Injuries service.
Required profile
- Professional and managerial responsibility for a patient caseload.
- Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusive practice.
- PVG Scheme membership/record appropriate to the role.
- Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
