Employee Relations Manager

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established, customer‑focused business to hire an experienced Employee Relations Manager for their growing People team. This fast‑paced, people‑led environment offers varied daily challenges and the chance to influence positive outcomes for both the business and its staff.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of complex employee relations matters, including long‑term absence, conduct, capability, investigations, suspensions, hearings and appeals.
• Provide clear, pragmatic and commercially focused HR guidance to managers, ensuring fairness, consistency and best practice.
• Act as a trusted advisor and coach, building manager confidence and capability in people management.
• Collaborate with the HR team to develop and implement effective employee relations strategies.

Required profile

• Proven experience handling a broad range of complex ER cases in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and ability to apply it commercially.
• Confident communicator who can quickly build credibility and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Collaborative, pragmatic and solutions‑focused, with the confidence to challenge when needed.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Ideally CIPD qualified or working towards qualification.
