Employment Solicitor (5-6 years PQE)

About the role

An established law firm in Shirley is looking for an experienced Employment Solicitor with 5‑6 years post‑qualification experience to join its growing employment team. The role involves handling a broad range of contentious and non‑contentious employment matters for a diverse client base, including businesses and private individuals.

Key responsibilities

• Advise employers on disciplinary, grievance, performance management, redundancies, TUPE and organisational restructures.
• Manage Employment Tribunal claims from instruction through to resolution.
• Draft and negotiate employment contracts, policies, settlement agreements and related documentation.
• Support corporate transactions with employment law advice and due diligence.
• Provide commercially focused, strategic advice tailored to client objectives.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and contribute to business development activities such as networking, client training and seminars.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales.
• Approximately 5–6 years post‑qualification experience in employment law.
• Strong technical expertise across both contentious and non‑contentious employment matters.
• Experience managing a varied caseload with minimal supervision.
• Excellent drafting, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proactive, commercially aware approach with strong client‑care skills.
