Employment Solicitor (NQ to 6 PQE) – Birmingham

About the role

Our client, a well‑established commercial law firm in Birmingham, is expanding its employment team. They are seeking a qualified Employment Solicitor, from NQ level up to around six years PQE, to provide both contentious and non‑contentious advice to a diverse portfolio of employer clients.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on a wide range of employment matters, including HR policy, contractual issues and strategic workforce projects.
• Manage tribunal litigation and represent clients in employment courts.
• Provide corporate support on employment aspects of mergers, acquisitions and restructurings.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, working closely with senior partners.
• Contribute to business development initiatives and support the growth of the practice.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with experience in a recognised employment law team.
• Between NQ and approximately six years post‑qualification experience.
• Strong client‑facing abilities and commercial judgement.
• Enthusiasm for employment law and a proactive approach to case management.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality, pragmatic advice.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of UK employment legislation.
• Experience handling tribunal litigation and HR advisory work.
• Ability to advise on corporate employment matters and strategic projects.
