Employment Tax Manager

About the role

Are you an experienced Employment Tax professional looking for an opportunity to take ownership of a regional tax agenda within a global organisation? This highly visible role is responsible for employment tax matters across the EMEA region and works closely with senior stakeholders in Finance, HR, Payroll, Reward and Legal functions.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the subject‑matter expert for employment tax across the EMEA region, ensuring compliance, governance and effective control frameworks in multiple jurisdictions.
• Lead on employee benefits, PAYE Settlement Agreements, international mobility, business travellers, home and overseas working arrangements, and share‑scheme reporting.
• Serve as the primary contact for HMRC and other tax authorities, managing enquiries, reviews and disputes while developing robust technical positions.
• Partner with Finance, Payroll, HR, Legal and Reward teams to embed tax governance and controls into business decision‑making.
• Monitor legislative developments, identify process improvements and optimise the organisation’s employment tax position.

Required profile

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA) or qualified tax professional (ATT/CTA) or equivalent employment‑tax experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK employment taxes, including PAYE, NIC, benefits‑in‑kind, IR35 and share‑scheme reporting.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, able to influence technical and non‑technical audiences.
