Energy Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Energy Manager to lead the development and improvement of our route‑wide energy management plan. Working primarily remotely with occasional visits to Peterborough, London and York, you will drive measurable energy performance improvements across the network.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and continuously improve the route’s energy management plan.
• Monitor, analyse and report on energy consumption data.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 50001 standards.
• Conduct comprehensive energy audits across the route.
• Generate insights, identify efficiency opportunities and develop business cases for investment.
• Coordinate and deliver energy‑reduction programmes and workshops.
• Track regulatory changes and disseminate updates.
• Share best practices internally and externally and collaborate with the Utilities Specialist.

Required profile

• Proven experience implementing and maintaining Energy Management Systems to BS EN ISO 50001:2011.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver measurable improvements in energy performance.
• CMPV (Certified Measurement and Verification Professional) qualification.
• Strong analytical and numerical data‑interpretation skills.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation abilities.
• Experience creating and delivering training materials.
• Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and manage projects effectively.
• Membership or practice with AEE, AEM or EMA bodies.
