Engineering Director – Lead Engineering Managers & Teams

About the role

Engineering Director at Omnea, leading a group of Engineering Managers and Team Leads overseeing 25‑50 engineers across multiple product teams. Reporting to the CTO, you will shape the technical direction, org design and delivery of key product areas.

Key responsibilities

• Hire, coach, and develop Engineering Managers and Team Leads, setting high performance standards.
• Own org design, headcount planning and team structuring as the product and company scale.
• Define operating rhythms, planning, prioritisation and reporting for multi‑team delivery.
• Resolve cross‑team dependencies, architectural decisions and ensure robust monitoring and incident response.
• Partner with CTO and Product leadership to shape technical roadmap, make build/buy and architecture decisions, and balance technical debt with feature development.

Required profile

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years in engineering leadership.
• 2+ years managing managers, having built and led groups of 25‑50 engineers.
• Proven success in fast‑moving, high‑growth B2B SaaS environments, preferably at Series A+ companies.
• Strong track record of delivering multi‑team programs that drive product adoption, revenue and customer retention.

Required skills

• Modern web technologies (e.g., TypeScript, React).
• Distributed systems and cloud architecture, preferably AWS and serverless.
• Experience scaling engineering organisations and implementing processes at rapid growth.
