Engineering Lecturer – Further Education (London)

About the role
We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic Engineering Lecturers to join a range of well‑established Further Education providers in London. This role offers the chance to make a real impact on learners pursuing careers in engineering and manufacturing, helping them develop both technical knowledge and practical skills.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver high‑quality engineering lessons.
- Teach engineering programmes to learners of varying levels and abilities.
- Assess, monitor and track student progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate records in line with college requirements.
- Create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
- Support learners in developing practical engineering skills and industry‑relevant knowledge.
- Ensure all practical activities comply with health and safety regulations.
- Contribute to learner achievement, retention and progression.
Required profile
- Relevant degree or qualification in engineering or a related discipline.
- Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training, or equivalent).
- Experience teaching engineering in Further Education, Higher Education, Secondary Education or Adult Learning environments.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
- Ability to engage and motivate learners of varying abilities.
- Passion for engineering education and strong subject knowledge.
- Industry experience in mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, civil, aerospace, automotive or general engineering sectors is desirable.
