Engineering Manager

About the role

Our client, a leading organisation in the energy sector, is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the delivery of complex engineering projects in Basingstoke. The role involves overseeing project execution, ensuring safety, quality and business objectives are met.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage the Project Engineering Execution Plan (PEEP) across all phases.
• Lead engineering execution, delivering projects on scope, schedule, budget and quality.
• Coordinate design, technical and HSEQ reviews and monitor progress.
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks and manage changes.
• Oversee engineering interfaces and communication among stakeholders.
• Consolidate cost estimates and provide regular updates.
• Lead and motivate multidisciplinary engineering teams, managing resources and workloads.
• Promote collaboration with internal functions and external service providers.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing engineering execution in complex project environments.
• Strong understanding of project management principles including planning, scheduling, forecasting, cost control, risk and change management.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams across multiple locations.
• Knowledge of project lifecycles (Feasibility, FEED, Detailed Design, Execution).
• Experience managing outsourced engineering services and contractors.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience in energy, oil & gas, industrial or engineering consultancy sectors is advantageous.
• Degree qualified in Engineering (BEng or equivalent); Chartered Engineer (CEng) status preferred.
