Engineering Manager

About the role

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to build and lead the engineering function for a market‑leading chemical business with sites across the UK and Ireland. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will travel to each depot, assess equipment and infrastructure, and develop a long‑term engineering roadmap.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement a company‑wide engineering strategy, standardising processes across multiple locations.
• Lead and develop a small team of engineers, fostering capability and succession planning.
• Oversee preventative maintenance programmes to improve asset reliability and reduce downtime.
• Manage engineering projects including equipment upgrades, civil and electrical works, and infrastructure improvements.
• Monitor engineering standards, ensuring safety, efficiency and compliance with business objectives.

Required profile

• Significant experience managing engineering operations in an industrial or chemical environment.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive change across dispersed sites.
• Strong project management background with a track record of delivering large‑scale upgrades.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
