Engineering Specialist – Remote (Hourly)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Specialist to design and evaluate advanced engineering problems for AI systems. This remote, hourly contract offers flexible work between 20 and 40 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Design original, multi‑step engineering problems that model real‑world systems.
• Evaluate AI‑generated engineering solutions for accuracy, completeness, and physical feasibility.
• Identify incorrect assumptions, logical gaps, and computational errors in AI outputs.
• Provide clear, well‑documented solutions using LaTeX for equations and derivations.
• Maintain high standards of technical rigor, precision, and conceptual depth.
• Contribute feedback to improve frontier AI reasoning capabilities.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (PhD, Master’s) or equivalent experience in mechanical, electrical, civil, aerospace, chemical engineering, or related fields.
• Strong proficiency in LaTeX for technical documentation.
• Experience designing, solving, or grading complex analytical or design‑focused engineering problems.
• Deep understanding of core engineering principles and real‑world constraints.
• Ability to communicate step‑by‑step reasoning and assumptions clearly in writing.
• Excellent attention to detail and internal consistency in verification.
