Engineering Supervisor / Senior Maintenance Engineer

About the role

Our client, a leading manufacturer in a highly automated process environment, is seeking an experienced Engineering Supervisor / Senior Maintenance Engineer. You will support the Engineering Manager to keep plant equipment running safely, reliably, and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Engineering Manager in day‑to‑day engineering and maintenance operations.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on plant machinery.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults promptly.
• Lead engineering projects, installations, upgrades and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Promote a strong health‑and‑safety culture and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Manage contractors and supervise engineering activities.
• Identify root causes of recurring failures and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and engineering documentation.
• Collaborate with production teams to minimise downtime.
• Support training, mentoring and development of engineering staff.

Required profile

• Proven engineering experience in manufacturing, industrial or process environments.
• Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic abilities.
• Experience with both preventative and reactive maintenance systems.
• Good knowledge of health‑and‑safety legislation and engineering best practices.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
• Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills.
• Continuous‑improvement mindset.
