English & Maths Employability Tutor (Temporary)

About the role

Reed Further Education is seeking a dedicated Employability Tutor to deliver functional skills English and Maths to learners on Level 1 Employability programmes in Wirral. The role involves teaching two groups, providing both academic and pastoral support, and helping learners develop essential workplace skills.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high‑quality lessons for Level 2 Numeracy and Literacy programmes.
• Act as course tutor for two groups, offering pastoral and academic guidance.
• Monitor learner progress, maintain accurate records and provide feedback.
• Create an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
• Contribute to learners’ confidence, communication and employability development.

Required profile

• PGCE, CertED or QTS teaching qualification.
• UK teaching experience, preferably in further education.
• Experience delivering Employability or similar vocational programmes.
• Ability to motivate and engage learners with diverse needs.
• Desirable: ability to teach GCSE English and Maths.
• DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
