English Teacher – Secondary School (Key Stages 3‑4)

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic English Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Slough. The role starts in September 2026 and offers the chance to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with optional Key Stage 5 teaching for suitable candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and inspiring English lessons for Key Stages 3 and 4 (and Key Stage 5 where appropriate).
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that challenges and supports all learners.
• Monitor student progress, adapt teaching strategies and provide targeted interventions.
• Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development and whole‑school initiatives.
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain high academic standards and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching English at Key Stages 3 and 4; Key Stage 5 experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Passion for literature, reading and writing, with the ability to motivate students.
• Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
• Positive, proactive attitude and commitment to staff wellbeing.

• Strong written and verbal communication.
