English Tutor – 1:1 Support (Year 8)

About the role
Prospero Teaching is looking for dedicated English tutors to deliver one‑to‑one support to Year 8 students in Leeds. The role involves working with local authorities to help pupils in alternative provision improve their English skills and confidence.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver tailored 1:1 English tutoring sessions.
- Support students in improving academic performance and confidence.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs.
- Monitor progress and provide regular feedback.
Required profile
- QTS desired but not essential; previous 1:1 tutoring experience.
- Proven track record of improving student performance.
- Team Teach qualification highly desirable.
- Up‑to‑date safeguarding training (within the last year, can be provided).
- DBS registration on the update service.
- Right to work in the UK and two professional references covering the last two years.
Required skills
What we offer
- Pay rate of £20‑£30 per hour.
- Flexible scheduling of up to 10 hours per week, Monday‑Friday between 9 am‑4 pm.
