English/Maths Employability Tutor

About the role

Reed Further Education is seeking a dedicated Employability Tutor to deliver Level 1 functional skills programmes in English and Maths. You will work with two learner groups, helping them develop essential numeracy, literacy and employability skills needed for work and everyday life.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high‑quality lessons for Level 2 Numeracy/Literacy programmes.
• Act as course tutor for two groups, providing both pastoral and academic support.
• Monitor learner progress, keep accurate records and report on outcomes.
• Create an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
• Help learners build confidence, communication and employability skills.

Required profile

• PGCE, CertED or QTS teaching qualification.
• UK teaching experience, preferably in further education or vocational settings.
• Experience delivering employability or similar programmes.
• Ability to motivate and engage learners with diverse needs.
• Desirable: ability to teach GCSE English and Maths.
• DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
