Estimating Manager – Construction Projects

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Estimating Manager to lead the pre‑construction estimating function for a well‑established principal contractor operating across refurbishment, leisure, commercial and construction projects in the South East of England. The role offers hands‑on leadership and the chance to influence the company’s growth and project portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Produce accurate, competitive and commercially robust tenders from enquiry to submission.
• Lead the tender process, including take‑offs, subcontractor enquiries, cost plans and budgets.
• Conduct tender reviews, support value‑engineering exercises and oversee project hand‑overs.
• Attend client meetings and coordinate with pre‑construction, operational and commercial teams.
• Mentor and develop junior members of the estimating team.

Required profile

• Proven track record in construction estimating and managing complex tenders.
• Strong commercial awareness and excellent analytical abilities.
• Experience with traditional and design‑and‑build contracts.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
