Estimator – CNC Precision Engineering

About the role

Our client, a successful CNC precision engineering company near Camberley, Surrey, is seeking an Estimator to join their team. You will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates and quotations, supporting the sales process, and ensuring smooth production planning.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare estimates and quotations for customer orders.
• Follow up on quotations and manage contract reviews.
• Process sales orders and create parts, BOMs, and production plans in the control system.
• Generate work orders, purchase orders and subcontract documentation.
• Place purchase orders for raw materials and expedite manufacturing of parts and assemblies.
• Liaise with Production and Quality teams to provide customers with progress updates.
• Collect and collate data for reporting and prepare metrics for the Commercial Manager.
• Perform general duties to ensure efficient department operation.

Required profile

• Comprehensive knowledge of the aerospace sub‑contracting industry.
• Experience managing large manufacturing programmes.
• Background in CNC machining and mechanical assembly.
• Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
• Ability to collect data, generate reports and work under pressure.
