Estimator – Construction Security Projects

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Estimator to join our long‑standing security‑focused construction business. Based in Bedford, you will support the estimating team by reviewing tenders, preparing cost proposals and analysing pricing for high‑profile government, healthcare and critical‑infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates and pricing schedules for a variety of security‑related construction works.
• Review tender documents, drawings and specifications to identify scope and requirements.
• Calculate material, labour and subcontractor costs using Excel and specialised estimating software.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and verify pricing data.
• Maintain organised records of estimates, submissions and correspondence.
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Project Management and Production teams to ensure alignment on project deliverables.

Required profile

• Early experience in an Estimator role within any construction discipline.
• Strong analytical ability and meticulous attention to detail.
• Proactive, organised and eager to develop within a growing department.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with estimation software; familiarity with Bluebeam or PlanSwift is beneficial.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD is advantageous.
