Estimator – Manufacturing Cost & Tender Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join a leading oil & gas equipment manufacturer in the North East. You will be responsible for producing accurate cost estimates and pricing quotations to support new business opportunities and strategic tenders.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare manufacturing cost estimates and pricing quotations for new projects.
• Assess customer tender specifications and related documentation.
• Generate detailed costings, work‑scope documents and programme plans.
• Provide cost and technical data to support the sales team.
• Manage complete responses to requests for quotations, including terms, conditions and price proposals.
• Communicate directly with customers to ensure RFQ requirements are met on time.

Required profile

• Experience in precision engineering and/or welding, preferably within subsea oil & gas, industrial gas turbines, nuclear or defence sectors.
• Good knowledge of manufacturing methods, tooling, fixtures and cycle times.
• Engineering qualification or relevant hands‑on experience is advantageous.
• Ability to convert cycle‑time data into cost estimates using an estimating system.
• Strong communication and organisational abilities; comfortable in a customer‑facing role.
• Capable of working both independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.
