Estimator – Water & Infrastructure Projects

About the role

We are seeking an Estimator to join our collaborative @one Alliance team, supporting the delivery of water‑related capital projects across the East of England. Working either within the Central Estimating Team or embedded in a Business Unit, you will contribute to a diverse portfolio that includes treatment plants, pipelines, pumping stations, reservoirs and network storage.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare CAPEX estimates at all project stages, from early optioneering to detailed design and target cost development.
• Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams to understand and quantify project scope.
• Engage suppliers and subcontractors to gather cost information.
• Use estimating software and Microsoft Excel to produce accurate cost models.
• Maintain and update cost databases, quotation libraries and cost‑base data.
• Identify market rate discrepancies and support procurement with early cost validation.
• Apply digital tools, including 3D models, to enhance scope understanding and cost modelling.
• Promote a “Safer Every Day” culture and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in construction, infrastructure or utilities estimating (desirable).
• Familiarity with civil, mechanical, electrical or process engineering disciplines.
• Exposure to estimating software and contractor/sub‑contractor environments (desirable).
