European Credit Controller (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced European Credit Controller to join our finance team in Bracknell. The role will manage the European sales ledger, support cash collection and credit risk management, and work closely with sales and finance colleagues across Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Manage European debtor ledgers and ensure payments are received within agreed terms.
• Contact customers by phone and email to chase outstanding debt while maintaining positive relationships.
• Investigate and resolve deductions, account queries and allocate receipts.
• Forecast receipts to support weekly cash‑flow reporting.
• Monitor credit limits and release orders where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate customer master data and produce aged‑debt, collections and credit exposure reports.
• Support annual audit and credit‑insurance processes.
• Collaborate with sales, overseas finance teams and customer accounts payable to resolve issues.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounts‑receivable processes and controls.

Required profile

• Previous experience in credit control or accounts receivable, preferably covering European markets and multiple currencies.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Proactive problem‑solving attitude.
• Confidence working with internal and external stakeholders.
• Fluency in one or more European languages is desirable.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables).
