Executive Medical Director, Clinical Development Lead - Oncology

About the role

GSK is seeking an Executive Medical Director to lead clinical development for an oncology asset. The role sits at the centre of the Medicine Development Team, shaping strategy, scientific narrative and decision frameworks across the asset lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the clinical development strategy and roadmap for the oncology asset.
• Act as the clinical authority and visible leader, representing Clinical Development internally and externally.
• Partner with the Medicine Development Team to integrate clinical insights into product strategy, governance and investment decisions.
• Drive a data‑driven, technology‑enabled approach to accelerate study delivery, precision and decision quality.
• Collaborate with senior scientists to ensure operational study execution aligns with strategic objectives.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (MD, PharmD, PhD or equivalent); MD or equivalent clinical doctorate preferred.
• Extensive experience in oncology clinical development at an enterprise level.
• Proven leadership in shaping clinical strategy and influencing cross‑functional teams.
• Ability to communicate scientific narratives to internal stakeholders and external partners.
