Experienced Asbestos Surveyor – Basildon

About the role

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is supporting an established asbestos consultancy in Basildon. The consultancy has over three decades of experience delivering high‑quality asbestos services across multiple sectors. This role offers an experienced asbestos surveyor the chance to work independently within a supportive, technically‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake Management, Refurbishment & Demolition asbestos surveys in line with HSG264.
• Identify and assess asbestos‑containing materials across various property types.
• Produce accurate, compliant and well‑presented asbestos survey reports.
• Manage workloads and project deadlines effectively.
• Liaise professionally with clients, contractors and internal colleagues.
• Ensure all work complies with current asbestos legislation, HSE guidance and industry best practice.
• Maintain high standards of health & safety and quality assurance.

Required profile

• BOHS P402 qualification (or equivalent).
• Demonstrable experience as an asbestos surveyor within a UKAS‑accredited consultancy.
• Strong understanding of asbestos legislation and compliance requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional, organised and reliable approach to work.
• Full UK driving licence.
