Experienced Payroll Administrator

About the role

An experienced Payroll Administrator is needed to support a fast‑growing accountancy firm in Brighton. This fixed‑term position covers long‑term sick leave and may become permanent, offering a chance to join a well‑established team.

Key responsibilities

• Process payroll end‑to‑end, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Create and maintain comprehensive payroll records.
• Calculate part‑months, holiday pay, statutory payments and process P45s.
• Liaise with clients to clarify payroll calculations.
• Manage client pension schemes across multiple providers, including setup and monthly uploads.
• Maintain confidentiality and data accuracy at all times.

Required profile

• Proven payroll experience handling full‑cycle payroll.
• Experience with Sage, STAR and Xero payroll systems.
• Strong numerical, data‑entry and Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and a right‑first‑time approach.
• Confident communicator, able to work independently and under pressure.
• Well‑organised, methodical and able to prioritise workload.
• Minimum 5 GCSEs A‑C including Maths and English.
• Legal right to work in the UK.
