EYFS Teaching Assistant (Level 3) – Nelson

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Level 3 EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Nelson from September 2026. This full‑time position supports young learners in their early years, helping them develop academically, socially and emotionally.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, creative learning activities.
• Provide whole‑class and small‑group support to children.
• Foster a positive, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment.
• Encourage independence, confidence and communication skills.
• Support observations, assessments and learning journeys as required.

Required profile

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Early Years qualification.
• Experience working in an EYFS setting.
• Good understanding of the EYFS Framework.
• Caring, patient and enthusiastic attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
