Factory Hand

About the role

Our client in Southampton is looking for a reliable and hardworking Factory Hand to support production on a temporary basis, with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate. The role involves manual handling, stock movement and general assistance on the shop floor during standard weekday shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Safely move and handle 60‑70 kg sacks.
• Assist with loading and unloading deliveries.
• Support palletising and goods‑in processes.
• Operate pallet trucks to move stock and materials.
• Assist machine operators with stock movement and general production support.
• Maintain a clean and organised production area, including sweeping, waste disposal and housekeeping duties.
• Work effectively within a small team and follow instructions accurately.
• Adhere to all health and safety procedures.

Required profile

• Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting.
• Previous experience in a warehouse, factory or production environment.
• Good understanding of safe manual handling practices.
• Strong attendance and punctuality record.
• Positive attitude with a flexible approach to work.

Required skills

• Forklift licence (advantageous but not essential).
• Pallet truck operation.

What we offer

• Hourly rate of £13.
• Potential to progress to a permanent position.
