Faculty – Natural Resources Environmental Technology (Full‑time)

About the role

The Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) Lunenburg Campus is seeking a full‑time faculty member to teach in the Natural Resources Environmental Technology program. This fixed‑term appointment runs from approximately August 24, 2026 to June 18, 2027 and involves delivering both theoretical and hands‑on instruction to a diverse student body.

Key responsibilities

• Provide classroom, lab and shop instruction covering natural resources, forestry and environmental technology topics.
• Design, deliver and assess learning experiences using a range of teaching modalities, including in‑class, online and blended formats.
• Maintain health and safety standards in all instructional environments.
• Stay current with industry practices and integrate 21st‑century teaching methods.
• Participate in academic advising, curriculum development, committee work and industry liaison activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Environmental Sciences or a related degree/diploma in Natural Resources, Resource Technology or Forest Technology.
• Environmental Professional (EP) designation through CECAB, or willingness to obtain it.
• Relevant occupational experience in agriculture, forestry or environmental sectors.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (e.g., Brightspace).
• Experience using GIS tools.
• Competence in saw use and safety procedures.
• Knowledge of tree marking techniques.
