Faculty Position in Statistics

About the role

The Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics at the University of Cambridge is recruiting a new Faculty member to contribute to research and teaching in Statistics from September 2027 (or by agreement). Statistics is broadly defined, covering mathematical statistics through to the foundations of machine learning. The appointment is at Assistant Professor (Grade 9), leading to a tenured position after a satisfactory 3-5 year probation period.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent in Statistics, Mathematics or a closely related subject.
• Strong track record of research excellence.
• Able to lecture a range of undergraduate and master's level statistics courses.
• Ability or potential to secure research funding and build a network of collaborators.
