Family Caseworker / Paralegal – £27k‑£28k

About the role

This role offers an experienced Paralegal or Family Caseworker the chance to take full responsibility for their own caseload within a busy family law practice. You will move beyond a support‑based position to manage cases independently while receiving appropriate supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑level client care and manage client matters from intake to resolution.
• Run your own caseload, handling both public and private family law work.
• Prepare letters, documents and court bundles using the case management system.
• Attend client meetings, take detailed notes and liaise with courts, experts and external parties.
• Complete public funding applications and ensure all deadlines are met.
• Support fee earners and contribute to the development of the Family department.

Required profile

• Experience working in family law, preferably managing or assisting with your own caseload.
• Strong understanding of both public and private family law matters.
• Confident in direct client interaction and communication with other professionals.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Capability to work independently while benefiting from supervision and support.
